The True God

The Christian Bible teaches that there is only one true God.  He exists in three persons.  They are God the Father, God the Son (Jesus, or ‘the Word’), and God the Holy Spirit.  Each is perfect, equal in character and power.  They function together perfectly in love and unity.

God created all things, and still reigns as King over all.  The Bible reveals that God is eternal, holy, good, all-powerful, all-knowing and wise, merciful and willing to forgive, and just. Scripture states that God is love.

The Holy Spirit points people to the Son (Jesus Christ), and works to establish the benefits won for them through Jesus’ death on the cross and His resurrection.  The Son brings people to the Father, who is fulfilling His purposes for eternity.  The Father seeks to actively be our Father in heaven, but allows us free choice.  He does not want mindless robots.  The Father is kind, and does everything possible to save us from our sin.  But, in the end, He cannot ignore sin in the unrepentant heart.

The earth does not seem a perfect place.  This is because of Satan (the devil), an angel who rebelled against God.  Long ago Satan tempted the first man and woman God made, and they disobeyed God, falling into sin.  This state of sin is passed on to every person born.  Satan and evil spirits he commands are still active deceiving people, and tempting them to sin.

In time, in God’s wisdom, all evil caused by Satan and fallen mankind will be eradicated.  Satan, and all who have remained in a fallen state of sin, will suffer eternal judgement.  God’s perfect kingdom of love and truth with His children will then be fully realised for eternity.
